According to relevant statistics: From 1994 to 2000, compared with the 6.5% annual growth rate in the world, China's wine consumption grew by 61.8%. At this rate, China will become the fastest growing global wine consumer in Asia by 2006
The major Chinese liquor companies are mostly concentrated in selling high level quality wines, and international wine exports into China will also be positioning themselves to enter this high-end market. By 2010, high-end wines will account for 50% of the Chinese wine market, with middle-quality wines making up 40 and wines of low quality only 10%.
