    In the expo, three major domestic wine-brewing enterprises, namely Chang Yu, Great Wall and Dynasty, exhibited their own latest products;
    Other famous wine enterprises such as Weilong, Yunnan Red Wine, Beijing Fengshou, Shangli.la, Suntime and Changbaishan, etc. also showed their products, displaying the reputation for style and elegance that Chinese wines enjoy today. Domestic distilled spirit enterprises, represented by the national spirit Maotai, Wuliangye—king of China’s liquor industry and Jiannanchun, a thousand-year-old brand, also turned out an impressive showing of their varied and outstanding products. Domestic distilled spirit enterprises represented by the national spirit Maotai, Wuliangye—king of China’s liquor industry and Jiannanchun of a thousand-year-long brand also participated in the expo with magnificent image and exquisite products.
    Gross proceeds of distilled spirit enterprises participating in the expo account for about 85% of total turnout of the industry, and the figure is close to 90% for wine enterprises. The number of visitors was over 6700, and the Chinese liquor and wine distributors, purchasing managers and wine bar managers expressed one after another that “although the scale of this expo is less than that of Chengdu Sugar and Wine Trade Fair, its overall level greatly exceeds the latter. It is one of the few high-level liquor expositions in recent years”.

    Furthermore, a good many international exhibitors, embassies and consulates in Shanghai, representing major winemaking countries such as South Africa, Argentina, Chile and Portugal, among others, also participated in the expo, met and compared notes with the major domestic wine companies, and bought local quality wines. This kind of international exchange is what makes the Shanghai Wine Expo such an effective internationalization platform for Chinese and foreign liquor enterprises, giving them a chance to carry out a full exchange and opportunities to seek cooperation.
    The expo was also widely embraced by the media, with one major media outlet after another reporting on the grand occasion. For example, Xinmin Evening News, Shanghai Daily (English edition), Shanghai Television Station, Shanghai Oriental Television, CCTV-9, Global Weekly and Shanghai Business, to name just a few, all covered the event.

    During the expo, an “International Liquor Summit Forum” was also held, with more than 200 attendees, mainly the leaders of the main domestic liquor enterprises, representatives of transnational corporations and other professional personages in the liquor industry, on hand to participate. The leaders of domestic enterprises such as Maotai, Wuliangye, Jiannanchun, Chang Yu, Great Wall and Dynasty, as well as from internationally famous transnational enterprises such as Remy Martin successively made keynote speeches about the development of Chinese and the global liquor market. Particularly notable was the speech made by Mr. Wu Xiangdong, the president of Jinliufu Group, with the title of “Facing the market and the future, taking great pains to build an internationally famous brand of liquor with national characteristics”, to the great appreciation of all participants.
