China: Strongest Wine Market Development in the World
China’s wine market is increasing so quickly that it has a more than 36 % growth annually. Compared with the 1 % annual growth rate in the world market, China has become the market with the most potential in Asia, perhaps even in the world.
Authority of the Organizer and Large Scale of the Exhibition
As the organizer of the event, China National Food Industry Association is the most authoritative organization in the Chinese wine industry. The WineExpo2007 will be 100% operated by the association, the main purpose of which is to meet the requests of the foreign wine investors and establish one of the best exchange bridges in the world.
The exhibition area is more than 8000’Sqms, making it the biggest professional wine exhibition in China.
Sharp Decrease in Import Tariff
In addition to all this, the import tariff on wine in China has already been considerably reduced. As per the request of the World Trade Organization (WTO), China’s import tariff on wine was lowered from 65 % to 14 % in 2004, which provided a golden opportunity for all foreign wine producers. Over one hundred wine brands from different countries have already entered the Chinese market by participating in different wine exhibitions in China. Doing wine business in China is not an easy thing, so a chance to meet most of the distributors and reach such a great amount of terminal consumers is an immeasurably valuable opportunity for anyone in the wine industry today.
Opportunity for Foreign Brewing Equipment & Technologies Suppliers
China’s wine industry is developing very quickly. In order to upgrade product quality and production efficiency, China needs to import brewing equipment and materials. Nearly all of the wine makers want to build bridges with equipment suppliers from overseas, and most of them have confirmed that their own high-quality industry professionals will attend the expo. It’s a golden opportunity for the foreign brewing equipment and technology suppliers!
Shanghai – The Best Place for Wine Businessmen
The China Wine & Liquor Expo 2007 will be organized in Shanghai. Beijing, Guangzhou and Shanghai are the three biggest wine consuming cities in China, but, as one of the most important business and financial centres in China, and a major international city in its own right, Shanghai is a more attractive choice.
With no professional activity being organized in Shanghai for the wine industry, there was a niche and a need for the China Wine & Liquor Expo 2007. With support from the Shanghai City Government and the Regulatory Ministry, this expo is assured to be a great success and a rewarding event for all exhibitors.
Shanghai is also the host of WorldExpo2010, another great reason to begin making contacts here now. Nowhere else in the world presents the modern wine businessman with such a unique opportunity to get in on the ground floor of such unprecedented growth, and to cultivate the contacts necessary to thrive in this difficult business.
Olympic Preparation Work
When the 2008 Olympics are held in Beijing, every hotel, restaurant, club and related wine-serving/selling venue will have already found wine suppliers, both at home and abroad. Shanghai is the final destination for the dealers, since most of the foreign investors all regard Shanghai as their first powerful step in entering the Chinese market. It’s not too late to place yourself into this market and take advantage of this demand, and the China Wine & Liquor Expo 2007 is the best place for you to begin!
